It is quick and easy, and only requires your first name, last name, and your cell phone number without any dots or dashes (i.e. 4194732700). COURSE DESCRIPTION: The student will complete the accounting cycle for a service business, from recording transactions to producing financial statements and closing the books in preparation for a new fiscal period. The payroll process and cash flow accounting, including bank reconciliation, are also included. Problems will be worked on manually and on the computer.   

EXPECTED LEARNER OUTCOMES: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:  Demonstrate an understanding of the accounting equation by classifying accounts as assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses; prepare a trial balance and other financial statements.   Demonstrate an understanding of debit/credit theory by recording business transactions in a general journal and special journals, posting from the journals to the general ledger, balancing the ledger accounts, and completing a worksheet.   Demonstrate an understanding of the matching principle by journalizing and adjusting entries at the end of the fiscal period and by adjusting them on a worksheet.  Reconcile a business checking account with a bank statement and make the necessary journal entries. Prepare a payroll register and record the payroll and employer payroll tax payments.
